Masking the Feelings

Admitting that she was hurt took so much
This was just easier
She would tell herself

Every morning looking in the mirror
Picks up her favorite mask
And firmly puts it on

She was broken but no one could know
He had left her alone
His picture on the shelf

Crying herself to sleep at night
Into the pillow she screams
Wishing she could be strong
