Heavy Light

One day she’s too big,
The next she’s too small
She’s listened to everyone
She’s tried it all

One year she was a bit heavy
They kept pestering her about it
She thought they knew best
When they spoke she didn’t doubt it

Then as she lost the weight
To them she was too slender
Once again she listened
There was no one to defend her

Where is the middle ground?
When will they no longer judge?
Why can’t she eat healthy
And still have that extra fudge?

She can’t see the truth
That no one’s opinion matters but hers
So she lives her life
The way they prefer

Her heart is beating fast.
She never fails
To get anxious
When she gets on…

The Scale
